Occupational Training in Port Logistics in Beirut

Within the series of trainings conceived by the EU funded project YEP MED, an introductory occupational training OT in blue sector took place in Beirut between the 21st and 24th September 2021. Indeed, 30 young men and women from various Lebanese regions and diverse educational backgrounds participated in the YEP MED port logistics training program. The objective is to communicate knowledge in port management, customs organization, shipping lines; to raise also young people interest in these activities and to shed lights on the logistics sector context and its various opportunities.

This five- days training program included the following lectures: Maritime Sector & Ports; Customs Services & Organization; Shipping Lines & Forwarders and Supply Chain Management. The seminar provided the trainees with hands on the logistics operations in ports within a participatory interactive approach. YPE MED project is planning to dig deep into the smart port logistics sector through the upcoming training program OT1 scheduled for the last week of October 2021, in order to pave the way and familiarize trainees with the logistics simulation application ERP.
