Signature of 6 Memorandums of Understanding to better shape blue skills of Lebanese youth through YEP MED project

In this context, 6 Memorandums of Understanding were signed between Chamber of Beirut & Mount Lebanon and YEP MED port community to promote and facilitate the dynamism between academia and port authorities in training programs pertaining to the blue economy sector.

YEP MED is catching the momentum to help in building capacities of potential workers at Beirut Port specifically after the tragic blast. Our goal within the EU funded project YEP MED is to help shaping skillful manpower and creating further jobs for young men and women in the blue economy”

The signing ceremony brought together at the Chamber premises the key stakeholders of the project, namely: Port of Beirut, Beirut Container Terminal, Lebanese Forwarders Syndicate, International Chamber of Navigation, American University of Technology, and Technical School Day Aytam.

What we need actually is to embrace digitalisation of port operations and processes. As such, YPE MED comes to help in building the digital and technical skills of Lebanese young men and women to cope with future smart ports

The signatories’ parties agreed on keeping their meetings regular to overview and facilitate the YEP MED trainings and apprenticeship programs noting that the upcoming vocational training VT2 will take place in Beirut on 24-28 May 2021.
