YEP MED local final Event in Beirut: Testimonials and Graduation Ceremony

Beirut, Lebanon, June 26, 2023 — The YEP MED event successfully took place today in Beirut in hybrid mode at the Hotel Gefinor Rotana, Hamra. The event, convened by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture of Beirut & Mount Lebanon (CCIA-BML), attracted prominent representatives of public sector, academic partners, port and logistics sectors, trainers and graduates.

The event was kicked off with a simultaneous online meeting that connected Beirut attendees with ESCOLA Europa-Intermodal, lead Beneficiary of YEP MED and various YEP MED partners from Spain, Italy, Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia. Opening keyword was delivered online by Eduard Rhodes, the Director of Escola Europa-Intermodal Transport Spain; followed by Duaa Qurie representative from ENI CBC MED; and Rabih Sabra, Director General of CCIA-BML and partners speeches. The meeting was a perfect blend of insightful conversations and promising collaborations.

The event resumes locally through projecting a special YEP MED video that showcased to attendees a glimpse into the program’s journey, particularly the Talent Program that took place between Civitavecchia and Barcelona over a week in May 2023. The milestones of YEP MED were presented by Hana Nehme, Head of Projects at CCIA-BML, shedding light on the program’s significant achievements and continuous growth. Testimonials from YEP MED graduates and trainers created an emotive atmosphere as they shared their experiences, successes, and lessons. These narratives illuminated the transformational impact of the YEP MED initiative on individual and institutional levels.

Adding to the momentum, a video presentation of the recent YEP MED Job Fair in Beirut provided insights into the diverse opportunities available for program graduates, reinforcing the initiative’s commitment to facilitating career progression for its participants.

One of the day’s major highlights was the graduation ceremony of the YEP MED Training Program, Celebrating the dedication of the students. The graduation was not only a celebration of their accomplishments but also an affirmation of YEP MED’s ongoing commitment to fostering the next generation of port logistics industry professionals. The event concluded with a lunch at the honor of stakeholders, trainers and students.
